Crank Brothers designed the stainless-steel Candy SL after their congregation asked for a little more beef to deal with hairy clip-in situations and long marathon rides. The Candy SL design lets you pedal briefly without engaging the cleat and provides a broader, more comfortable base underfoot, at the expense of a few grams over the Egg Beater SL.

5 Stars a great pedal!
This is an excellent pedal! This is the first clipless pedal I have used so I cannot really compare it to other brands; however, Crank Brothers makes a really good product. I have not had any problems at all with it. They keep my feet in tightly with hardly any slake between the cleat and pedal, also not even mud seems to mess with its ability to clip the cleat in. I ride with other people that do not use the Crank Brothers pedals and they always have issues with their pedals not holding tight enough or not being able to clip in when we are in the mud. It is a great product and you should definitely go with Crank Brothers if you love your bike.
