5 Stars Excellent all-around tire!
As you’ve probably discovered, city tires are usually smooth-riding, but flimsy, while off-road tires are rough-riding, but (hopefully) sturdy. Well, as one who rides mostly on (bad) city roads and the occasional rough dirt road, I would claim that this amazing Serfas tire is both very smooth-riding AND very sturdy! It’s such a major improvement over the knobby-type tires I had previously that I am almost speechless. Looking at the tread pattern, one can see the advantage for smooth surfaces, but this version of the Serfas Drifter (the Survivor) also sports a relatively thick tread and several internal layers designed to prevent punctures and increase strength. So, great traction on wet or dry surfaces, on smooth or rough surfaces, and strong enough so that I don’t worry at all about getting flats or sidewall damage. I know something about design and manufacture, and I would say that this tire strikes me as a top quality product all around! Make sure to spend the few extra dollars and get the “S” or “Survivor” version of the Drifter, rather than the much weaker (but same tread pattern) regular Drifter. Did I say that this is the best tire I’ve ever run? Get a pair and enjoy! The only people who shouldn’t be using this excellent all-around tire would be the ultra hardcore, off-road, trail blazing types. Highly recommended!!
