5 Stars Excellent All Weather Tire
I commute to work everyday between 20 to 30 miles from Queens to Manhattan on New York City streets. My bike is a Montague folding bike with the manufacturer’s original tires. I was getting 3 to 5 flats a week and switched to Armadillo which is a very heavy tire and did not get any flats. After a month I started getting flats on my rear tire. It was due to a bubble in the sidewall and the tire had to be replaced.

I replaced both my front and rear tire with the Michelin City. I have been riding it for 4 months and have had only 1 flat. The tire is fast and has good traction in rain. Note: I do also have tire liners.

As a final note, in my opinion, these are great tires. They are excellent in preventing flats and fast on the road. They also ride well in wet weather.

4 Stars Solid, cheap rubber.
I put a pair of these on my old all weather Novara hybrid, and they perform plenty well. About 1k miles around town so far, no flats, and only a tiny bit of wear. They’re not the most comfortable tires in the world, and I certainly wouldn’t put them on my roadie, but for what I use them for, I can’t ask for much more. Cheaper than Marathons or Gatorskins, and so far just as tough. They’re a little difficult to get on and off the rims, and they feel a tad squirrely on hard corners, but I’m not usually screaming around corners with 40 lbs of groceries on the back.

2 Stars Nice handling - Very Low Quality
I bought a set of the 1.85″ version 3 months ago. I am very unimpressed by this tire. It claims to have a puncture resistant liner and yet these tires are flat magnets. I have gotten 6 flats in the front tire in as many weeks, one of them required a new tube. The rear tire only lasted 2 weeks because the tire had a sidewall defect. While I was treated nicely by the company I bought this tire from on the warranty return - 4 weeks later I still don’t have a replacement.

Ironically I am using an 8 year old walmart tire as a replacement. That tire has never gotten a flat even once.

I gave a 2 star rating for these tires because when they manage to hold air and not blow out their sidewalls they really do handle well because of their tight tread and round profile. Perhaps Michelin can figure out how to make the actually flat resistant.

I’ve used a lot of Michelin tires on cars and bikes and liked them but these tires are junk.

5 Stars Michelin still makes a good bike tire
I bought these to replace another set of 20 year old city tires on my mountain bike. It was time. These are good tires. I like high pressure and keep them just below 90 PSI. I ride 5 miles to work every day in a big city. A tire that is made for the road and high pressure will give your a faster easier ride. It will be a little more bumpy of you keep them at high pressure like I do. I already have over 1,000 miles on them.

4 Stars Commuter Tires… So far so good.
These tires replace my original Specialized Nimbus (reflector sidewall) tires. The Michelins are a bit lighter, should only be inflated to 73psi, but they seem to be a very good tire so far. Smoother ride, they look good and roll fast. These, were mounted with new Bontrager tubes on Alex and Sun rims. Tires have so far dealt with LA streets, road cracks, bumps, debris without a problem. Tires mounted easily on my rims.

Strange thing about Amazon Shipping. Tires ordered and shipped easily. However, they came in separate large boxes.

Michelin tire web site is the place you should research to know what tire is best for you…. then check back on Amazon or another web retailer to find exactly what you want. Take particular notice of size availability. I use a 700×38C and this was available in my size. I run a Specialized Globe IG8, with rear rack/pack on a 17 mile round trip commute.

I recommend these tires so far. I will amend this review if I run into problems. 12/28/2009
